Another special spotlight, this time with Nexgen Aviation 3D Modeler Phad Karu! Phad agreed to answer some questions about Nexgen and what he does in SL:

QUESTIONS RELATED TO YOUR BUSINESS:

1. What inspired you to start your business in Second Life?
One Second Life resident, whom I knew, operated a texture shop a few years ago. She experienced a tremendous amount of success and I eventually became a contributor for her collection. A year later, she opted to leave the platform and closed the business. I elected to remain and try my hand at content creation - mostly as an experiment to test the waters via Xstreet.

2. Tell us about business, what were your aims and goals in Second Life when you started the brand?
I'm a contributing partner in NexGen, an aircraft manufacturer in Second Life.Above all, I strive for high quality in all aspects of my work. I always take my time to ensure my output meets the expectations of even the most discerning aviation enthusiast. The dawn of mesh technology offers, for the very time, a standard workflow with higher fidelity models than was previously possible in Second Life. We intend to capitalize on all that mesh offers for the aviation community.

3. How long have you owned your business in Second Life?
I have been working with the NexGen team for a relatively short period of time - roughly six months. My involvement with the company began with the F-15, our very first mesh product.

4. We are thrilled to have your business come to London this week! What about the expo inspired you to take part?
London, England is my real life birthplace. So I'm incredibly honoured that we could feature our products in a location that while only a virtual representation, still holds great sentimental value for me.

5. What are your future plans for your business in Second Life? Any new and exciting things on the horizon?
Absolutely. So far, NexGen has primarily released cold-war era aircraft since the debut of mesh. As such, we're excited with the upcoming prospects of future product launches that will soon include classic aircraft made famous in the distant past - most notably those from World War 2. We'll also have something special for pilots with a preference for rotrary aircraft as well. As for myself, in addition to creating superb planes for all sky-bound residents to enjoy at NexGen, I would like to eventually extend my endeavours into other markets such as props and military ground vehicles as a side business venture.

QUESTIONS RELATED TO YOU:

1. How long have you been in Second Life?
I created my account in mid-2008. However, initial forays into the Second Life economy proved abortive due to the highly saturated market. I left the SL platform to persue the possibilities offered by Blue Mars, another virtual world which utilized Crytek's CryEngine 2. Ultimately, Blue Mars as a business venture was unsustainable due to a rash of administrative blunders and poor leadership. I returned to Second Life in the latter of 2011, just in time to experiment with mesh on the beta prior to its full deployment on the main grid.

2. What made you first join Second Life?
I was indirectly introduced to Second Life after overhearing a conversation about it on a guild owned ventrilo server (of which I was a member). Eventually, I came to recognize the vast potential offered by a virtual world premised on user generated content. No longer satisfied with simply being just a participant in someone else's vision, I was allured by the possibility of being able to create my own.

3. What are some of the strangest things you have experienced or seen in Second Life? Lately, it would have to be a musical sim of Japanese origin. Although the sim mostly consisted of cubes, each cube contained a musical note that was played as you clicked on each one. A very long flight of stairs (each step echoing out a note) lead up towards yet more cubes. There were hundreds; each with their own unique sound.

4. Other than owning a business in Second Life and making awesome products, what are some other things you like to do while you are in Second Life? Exploring the world. That's it, really.The creativity on the grid never ceases to amaze me.

5. If you could invite anyone from RL into SL, who would it be?
Jimmy McMillan - he would form "The Tier is too Damn High" party in Second Life.

Once again it was a delight to welcome Jessii2009 Warrhol back to London.

AsNexgen executive, she is running their Expo week in Hyde Park from 12th - 16thMarch. This fabulous event showcases the stunningly crafted Nexgen planes,creations by Guarocuya Giano, in Hyde Park.

This will be a fun-filled week of partying and events, where one thing isfor sure - the theme is World War 2 and it's planes.

Monday already kicked off with a packed out party of 100 people with DJ Anakin.People were getting 'sorry, region is full' messages as they tried to teleportinto the party. DJ Anakin played popular dance and top hit tunes while we all partiedwith him.

TELL US HOW YOU FIRST BECOME INVOLVED WITH THE TIGERS:
My buddies and I used to fly at 1944 and also at the old Wilder sims. We watched each others' six and a strong bond of brotherhood emerged. Being a veteran and former club biker in rl, I felt it would make sense to organize a group which distinguished us from the rest and demonstrated our loyalty to each other and to our group. So in 2008, along with three other friends, I founded the Flying Tigers because I had read Sonny Barger's book, "Hells Angel" and understood what Sonny meant about brotherhood and loyalty and how the biker club got its name. Having read about the RL Flying Tigers distinguished history, it was obvious to me that I would have volunteered to serve in that unit had I existed back then. We became famous (or infamous depending on who you talk to) by shooting down just about anything else in the skies. The legend of the SL Flying Tigers brotherhood was born under fire in aerial combat; fire purifies and we are under constant fire every day. To me there is no stronger bond between humans than those which are forged between brothers in arms.

BESIDES LOVING TO FLY, WHAT ELSE DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN SECOND LIFE? I love to build. I began building space ships and sci fi stuff shortly after joining sl in 2007 a friend (Rogue Harsley) taught me how to get off the ground. I began dogfighting in space ships, then looking for a place to game I came across 1944 where there was lots of dogfighting going on back in those days.

Being a pilot In SL, I have flown and collected just about every builder out there (and still do) and although some are more realistic than others, I enjoy flying them all.

I began to build ww2 because the planes that I wanted to fly did not exist. When I approached some of the existing builders at the time with requests for this paint scheme or airplane or another I was flat out rejected. So I decided that if I wanted to fly a Flying Tigers p-40 I would have to build it myself and that is how I got started building ww2 and modern airplanes.

Now I prefer to fly airplanes that have a more realistic feel. I am former USARMY Air Cav (67YCrew Chief), USAAF ATC/OPS and USNAVY (Line Plane Captain) and have had 20 years of rl aviation experience as a crew chief and plane captain. Although SL cannot duplicate the exact physics of a RL aircraft, it does allow fair "imitation" and some builders, such as THI and even some EG (civilian) really come close. Others are extreme UFO's. That being said, I enjoy flying them all as long as its a level playing field. My favorite planes are rated "B" class which allow realism and gaming but are not too extreme in either direction.

Nexgen Aviation Airplane Show - Day 2 Recap!

The Nexgen Aviation Airplane Show in London continued yesterday, with everyone commenting on the awesome planes and of course having fun! Yesterday's music event featured DJ Anakin with Host Hazel. Guests were treated to a rousing 2 hour rock set and everyone had fun dancing in the makeshift airstrip in Hyde Park! Below are photos of the music event:

Nexgen Aviation Airplane Show Day 1!

Yesterday was the start of the Nexgen Aviation Airplane Show in Hyde Park! Nexgen Aviation is a quality maker of V.I.C.E. combat enabled WW2 and Modern aircraft maker in Second Life! The company is a joint effort by Flying Tigers' sim and group owner Guarocuya Giano, Spijkers Aviation & Marine owner Tig Spijkers, and 3D modeler Phadrus Karu.

London residents and guests have been delighted to see the various types of realistic aircraft from Nexgen! Below is a slideshow of some of the planes which are on display and you can purchase (photos taken by Second Life photography Maddy Maskelyne):

Each day at the expo will also featured a 2 hour music performance, after all who does not want to party and look at planes? Yesterday's performance featured DJ Anakin with host Cathlace from Club Capital! Guests danced to a variety of top 40's tunes and of course slapped the loaded contest board! NIGHT OF LEGENDS – Opening of Philly’s Bar

Last night at Philly’s Bar will be one that people talk aboutfor years to come, starting their sentences with the words ‘do you rememberwhen...‘. It was nothing less than a ‘Night of Legends’, both the audience andperformers. I felt like I was in a Second Life ‘Hall of Fame.’

The audience consisted of famous Second Lifers that havetheir images plastered all over as icons of virtual worlds, many who entered SecondLife in 2004 or before. Some still in Second Life, and some who apparently left– that is, until Last Night!

That was when Phill Plasma (Philly) did us all proud. Histypical humour and style along with being able to do the swan dance (lookserene above while peddling like mad beneath the water) was brilliant.

The legends watched, listened and partied- while the legendsplayed:

We kicked off with London legend DJ Mia Deluca, who got usall going and warmed up. Mia’s choice of music was perfect for the opener ofsuch a classic establishment. It was a shame that Crofty could not be there ashe was also DJing in the park.

After Mia – it was all ‘Three Lions’….

DJ Arti Yamabushi followed and we are just getting on thedance HUDs when the Internet Gremlin chewed through his wires and we were left soundless.

We heard a voice.. ‘is this Arti’s voice?’ someone said.

No – it was Jacomo Beltran. He stepped in to fill Arti’sspace and gave us a great set of sounds that really got the floor moving. Hewooed us with that wonderful German voice (I have a thing for German menanyway) and played the sounds that got us alive on the floor.

DJ Kendra Fallon then took us back with her classic sounds,slightly on the edge with Kate Bush. I remember hearing The Wombats, Let'sDance To Joy Division and Heartbeat by Scouting For Girls. http://youtu.be/P0kMLzrqf7g

With all this, Kendra got us ready for Thumper Boucher’s livesession on stage which proved itself to be truly electric. Thumper came ‘on’ - and Kitty’s knickers came ‘off’!

Thumper blew us away with his voice and music, starting with hisown great version of Cee Lo Green’s ‘F**k You’. His great voice and inspiredguitar playing just made a good night get even better for us all. We were inLegend heaven.

Just when we thought it couldn’t carry on and Thumper had toleave to do a live gig in real life, Mike Mission came to the rescue.

He was unashamed and dived straight into the 60’s with puregusto! Remember ‘Chas n Dave’? Or the obscure Ivor Cutler... he played it. Themiracle man made it work too. It was total brilliance!!!

Mike was on a Mission (excuse the pun)... a ‘marathon mission’.He played and played classic awesomeness from 2pm SLT to 8pm SLT (Which for usBrits is 10pm til 4am).

After Mike finally conceded at 4am UK time after showingeveryone the professional he truly is, Dazy took over.

DJ Dazy continued the morning through for the US people whowere still partying after 10 hours, after the Euros had mostly faded out. She cameover to say ‘Hi’ and ended up on the billing. You may remember her as BaileyDazey... yes’ that’s right ‘another’ SL legend playing at Philly’s Bar.

Philly’s Bar is only one day old now.I stand here looking down the street into Philly’s bar, which is being used asa hangout and I see... Suzette Teardrop, Phill Plasma, Raggi Ragu, JeremyJorda, Bianca Mastroianni, Mel Cheeky, Wata Quandry and Prad Prathivi just ‘hangingout’ there. It’s already a cult location.

All I can say to end this post is...Today we have Mel Cheeky performing live at 8am SLT. There are Legends uponLegends in Philly’s Bar. This is the bar that stands on the shoulders of giantsand I want to thank those giants for playing here. Thank you in yourawesomeness!!

Philly's Bar Opening Sat 3rd March

Hello, my name is Phill and I would like to introduce myself to the blog readers. I am very happy to be back as part of The London Sims Team after a long absence from Second Life.

It's been so much fun catching up with old friends here again as well as meeting lots of new faces that I have almost forgotten I am supposed to be working!

I'll be out and about around the London Sims helping out where needed by residents and staff. I'm normally found sitting on a prim somewhere in London building away contently so if you see me around please say hi, I love to meet new people.

I'm really excited to announce the official opening this weekend of a new addition to the popular nightlife venues in The London Sims.

Located in Knightsbridge, Philly's Bar will cater for music lovers in SL, specialising in the underground music scenes as well as regular live music and performers.

Those of you of a certain age in SL may remember my previous club incarnation, The Three Lions Pub at Bourton Village. We actively encouraged regulars there to take to the stage and show off their DJ and musician talents and this is very much how we intend to develop Philly's Bar. If you love music and good company, you are going to feel right at home.

The official opening for the new bar is this Saturday 3rd March and we have a packed schedule of DJs, Live Music and fun, starting around 10am SL time (thats 6pm for the Brits reading this) and carrying on till late.

I've been busy getting last minute details finished this week and finalising the running order so it's nice to be at the stage where everything is ready.

The first of our regular Sunday Live Music slots starts this sunday 4th with Mel Cheeky taking to the stage at 8am SLT (4pm UK). The sunday live acts is something I am really looking forward to, the live music scene in SL is wonderfully diverse and it will be great to see bands and performers here, new and old.

LondonExpo - Forerunner to 50th Anniversary

Dr Whohits its 50^th Anniversary next year

Since itsstart in 1963, Dr Who has had 11 regenerations of ‘Doctor’s’ - from the first, William Hartnell(who, as a child, I believed be a couture diva and dress the Queen Mother inhis spare time) to our well-loved Matt Smith, who is the current ‘Doctor’.

Dr Who ispart of British culture now and throughout the years, the program has thrilledgenerations. The beloved Time Lord is nameless and we are not even allowed toknow his real name, yet we watch his adventures through space and time. Sounds likeSecond Life Avatars to me?

Howappropriate it is then that people in Second Life relate to Dr Who so much,with many of them taking on Dr Who personas. The thriving community of Dr Whofans in Second Life look forward to next year when all the creations createdfor the anniversary of its birth will appear.

As aforerunner to next year and a teaser of what’s to come, Pipa Novelli of NovelliNoir has been kind enough to provide us with a Dr Who Expo which showcases DrWho over the years. It also provides us with a great party area !!

Facts About Dr Who

TheDoctor’s space/time travel machine, the TARDIS, is oddly disguised as a Britishpolice box on the outside due to a malfunction of the ‘chameleon circuit’.

Inside the TARDIS is a vast number of rooms and corridors, where the consoleroom taking centre stage.

The TARDIS console has changed many times over theyears and possesses telepathic circuits which The Doctor prefers not to use,instead he prefers to fly manually.

When ‘TheDoctor’ travels, he typically has a companion with who he shares hisexperiences and usually gets into trouble. The Doctor then has to rescue them.The Doctor’s adversaries have included scary cyborgs like the Daleks, theCybermen and The Master.

The Dr Who Expo

The DrWho Expo in Hyde Park shows you all these things, it contains different roomsand gives you a range of experiences throughout the whole of Dr Who’s 50 years.It includes a reconstructed Dr Who TV studio and various consoles over time. Ifyou explore further afield, you will find a wandering Dalek called Derek.

The Expostage also houses a Dr Who style club dance floor that reminded me of so manyscenes the good Doctor finds himself in. London has been holding its events inthis area for the past few weeks. We can thank Pipa Novelli for her fabulouscreation for London entertainment and this wonderful Dr Who Expo to celebrateDr Who’s 50^th anniversary next year.

Retrogradehas crowds of over 80 people inside the Dr Who Club, it has been a greatweek of fun with the region being packed out with people enjoying themselvesand making new friends. Many visited the Dr Who Expo and were thrilled by thatthey saw there.

After speakingwith Pipa and having a sneak preview of some of the things she has alreadyprepared for next year, I am excited and can’t wait for 2013!

HELPING IN LONDON SIMS

I joined Second life in April 2009,I landed in the middle of Hyde Park wearing an explorer skin a deflated parachute and a green helmet, I looked around, could not believe to my eyes! Everyone dressed like pop stars, so trendy showing a certain confidence with SL and me looking like a "weirdo"! So, my very first question on local chat was: "Hello.. how can I get rid of this toddling walk? How can i change my look?"

Someone sent me a couple of freebie landmarks, told me to go there, to buy new clothes and to learn how to use second life viewer. Easy to say! But how?!! I clicked here, there and everywhere trying to figure it out. I have been stubborn, never liked to give in and day after day, I got used to it and everything looked simple. I came across nice people in London Hyde park, and a friendly Greeter who patiently answered to my questions.

Basically, the main reason I decided to Join London Team and to become an helper is to offer my assistance to new residents and everyone who feels lost and confused same way I felt the early days. I chose to give out an hand and to share my experiences. People run into problems and don't- know-how every day; new residents, old residents. I encourage them to learn same way I do! Joining London Community helped me socializing, improving English and pc knowledge. It opened up a window overlooking the world. Thanks to London I approached to the graphic programs understanding, I found out some new skills and hobbies I couldn't even think about, and is great to encourage the others to follow!

Without any help, people may give up and miss the amazing experience of life and fun offered by London sims. They need hints, support and moreover positivity. Some people never been to London in real life, some would like to but can't, then nothing is better than a virtual tour, showing them pubs and stores in Kensington, Mayfair and Knightsbridge, with the parties, the good music streamed by so professional DJs!, the Legendary Big Ben, Hyde Park, Piccadilly, and Westminster. It takes so little to make them happy because the London sims are so well built and so close to London real life, impossible to ignore!

My task is not just guiding and teaching how to dress and change appearance, pretty often I offer assistance about pc settings and answer to questions about log in problems, inventory, accounts, viewers, griefers etc. Kindness, competence and good will are needed to be a good helper and no alt and fake noob has taken the fun and passion I put in helping away from me. Told you I'm stubborn!

While Walking Round London... Mayhem

While walking around in Mayfair, I came across the London Mayhem, in Piccadilly it is situated beneath the world famous Piccadilly advertising sign.
Under new management, this friendly club is run by Pyp Mifflin, and offers a selection of DJs and hosts throughout the week with a daily contest, and L$'s on the board.
Inside is a spiral staircase, which leads onto the roof. Once on the roof, one is greeted by a rather pleasant beer garden/retreat, away from the hustle and bustle of London daily life.
Step inside this friendly venue, which specialises in rock music, both past AND present, meet the friendly staff and join in the fun, maybe win some Lindens along the way.
London Mayhem is open every day except monday from 3pm SLT (11pm UK) with a double event on a sunday starting at 1pm SLT (9pm UK).

I love to Build and see people enjoy my items.

Why did you choose these products to create?
I love fashion with a passion so I thought jewelery is part of that.

What do you consider to be your best product and why?
Hmmm now, that is a hard one but I guess the one I'm most proud of is my Peacock Mouthy it looks stunning.

Why did you choose London to set up a store in?
Well I live in the UK in Real Life and there isn't a Liverpool in Second Life anymore, so London was the next best thing.

What do you like best about London?
I love the community, the rent is fair and the people are great.

What made you come to Second Life?
I read an article in the Guardian, which is a newspaper in the UK, it was interesting so I had to check it out.

Where did you land initially and what was your initial experience like?
I landed in the welcome area and found it quite scary at first.

Tell be a bit about your life, family and friends in Second Life?
Well I have a wife and 5 children I was married about a year ago I started off earning money in SL by holding horse auctions but that wasn't the greatest thing.

Do you disclose your real life ? If so, would you tell us a little about your real life interests?
I'm a buddhist and bee keeper and just enjoy life.

Do you think that your real life inspires your creations in Second Life and would you like to go into more detail about your creations?
Oh yes, if I see something I like I would go and make my own creation based on it. At the moment Vogue magazine is big on giant pearls so that's what I am looking at creating.

1. As mentioned previously, you are very interested in photography, are you a photography in real life?
In real life I am armed with my canon and abag full of lenses and play with photography but purely for my own pleasure.

2. How did you first discover the London Sims?
Im a brit guess i just stumbled upon it one day. Through Pro Image Designs I was contacted by Dizzy Dumpling about the London Sims requiring a photographer.

3. How can people contact you or book a photography session in SL? Do you have an office or photography studio? Photography in SL is an interesting concept, any special viewers or software packages a person would need to seriously get started with SL photography?
Mocha Vision is my private studio and most people contact me directly or through Pro Image Designs, or by various advertisements throughout SL. I do have a flicker site also for viewing, http://www.flickr.com/photos/mochavision/

4. Are there any particular photographers from RL that are your favorites?
I'm a big fan of black & whites and love a few local artists in my area.

Special Spotlight: Debs Regent Part 3

Today we wrap up our spotlight, with London Sims Owner, Debs Regent. In this installment Debs talks about where she likes to hang out in London and gives some tips to other sim owners:

As mentioned previously, you are very interested in London; did you grow up in London in RL? What are some your favorite London places and landmarks?

I grew up just outside of London, in a small city called St Albans. However i have lived in London since then, in Holland Park. London was always seen by us provincials as the 'big city'. My favorite London places as a child were Piccadilly Circus and the incredible Museums and Art Galleries in London. More recently, I prefer shops and restaurants, like Harrods and Harvey Nichols, as well as strolling down roads such as Piccadilly, Regent Street and Bond Street.

Other than being British, why did you choose London as the city you wanted to replicate in SL? Why not another famous city?

This is easy really, I didn't want to create a 'city' I wanted to build a hub, where people could congregate and meet, as I had done with my friend in Harvey Nichols in 2006. London was obvious because that was where we met. London inSL was built from love between two dear friends. It is my hope that this sense of love continues within our London in SL.

What are some interesting places in the sims to hang out? What are some hidden places?

I love to hang out in Big Ben's clock room. You can see everything from there and there is even a hidden room at the very top. If you look around London, you will find hidden places all over. Underground, at the top of buildings, behind solid walls, just like in the real London, there are mysterious hidden places everywhere around you - it is up to you to find them. I wouldn't dream of spoiling anyone's fun (or secret hideout) by divulging them here.

I’m sure you are often asked, how one starts a themed city or general themed sim in SL. Any advice?

Yes I get asked a lot - and to build it for them too. I tell people the same thing (although I am not sure they believe me or want to believe me). You need very deep pockets, a lot of time and patience and to be prepared to tear down anything that doesn't come up to your standards. Most of all, you need to walk the streets in person and really get to know the area. Without the knowledge of the heartbeat of the region (if it is real) you cannot get the smells, the sounds, and the sense of the place into the theme. For imaginary places, it is similar, you have to create it in your head and pace every centimeter of the place mentally.

Are there any other themed sims you would recommend to people, who are looking for a city experience in SL?

Paris, somehow the French know the above ideas instinctively. It is no mistake that these people are the nation of artists. Also go and take a trip to Dublin. Ham Rambler (John Mahon) has put his heart and soul into Dublin and it has an Irish heartbeat. You cannot say you have visited Second Life without taking a trip to Dublin.

1. How long have you been in Second Life? just over 4 years.

2. What made you first join Second Life? I was on a flight from Washington and saw SecondLife in a magazine I read it .... came home.... and logged in!

3. What are some of the strangest things you have experienced or seen in Second Life?
hmmm... one of the most creative works I have seen is anything from AM Radio, as far as strangest... well... flying noobs, dogs that walk like a man, werewolves, vampires, elves with ninja capabilities...to name a few but is that weird or just creative?

4. Other than owning a business in Second Life and loving rock music, what are some other things you do while you are in Second Life?
I am happily engaged to a wonderful DJ, Styles Sharp who very successful in the club scene in SL so I host for his events, research talents and enjoy shopping making wedding plans for January and hanging out with friends and family.

5. If you could invite anyone from RL into SL, who would it be? anyone??? hmm.... can I say Usher?

How long have you been in Second Life?

Since 2006.

What made you first join Second Life?

My Real Life best friend... I will never stop blaming her for that.

What are some of the strangest things you have experienced or seen in Second Life?

A walking penis... (Can I say that?). A trip through a musical vortex, bungee jumping off Big Ben, meeting friends in Real life that I have made in Second Life and finding they are exactly the same people I got to know virtually - and lastly walking down the real life Kensington High Street and being blown away because it was such an accurate copy that I felt like I was in Second Life.

Other than owning a business in Second Life and loving London, what are some other things you do while you are in Second Life?

Relax with friends and play games with them such as SL paintball, listen to people's music and create things.

If you could invite anyone from RL into SL, who would it be?

Can I have two or three here? David Cameron or the Queen and or Prince Charles. David is a progressive leader and not frightened of new ideas. I would hope that we could fuel his passion for using virtual London and England by meeting people here in Second Life and showing off the possibilities of using virtual worlds for some of the solutions that Britain needs. The Queen and Prince Charles because this is 'their' country. I am obviously patriotic and am proud that we still have the monarchy. I would love them to appreciate that they also have virtual citizens too.

For this special spotlight, we will highlight the thoughts and musings of our great sim owner, Debs Regent! Debs created London in 2006 and has turned it into a thriving and fun community within Second Life! The first part of our spotlight focuses on why Debs created London in the first place:

What inspired you to start London?

I was brought to SL by my real best friend since childhood. We hadn't seen each other for a long time and decided to meet at Harvey Nichols restaurant in Knightsbridge. She was in SL and got me to try it so we could stay in touch. We originally decided to build a London in SL together in honor of our meeting, but she had other commitments that meant she could not do it with me.

Tell us about London, what were your aims and goals in SL when you started the sims?

The aims and goals were to recreate the whole of London as a replica of the real world place and have it filled with people from around the world, who may have wanted to visit London but could not. It was to be a place of discovery. Of course that seems naive now, because the project would have been too large to contemplate. However I think we did the idea proud as it is a lovely place to be and has a vast number of things going on here. The goal was to bring real people, businesses and organizations into virtual, so we would have real shopping malls, entertainment, offices and homes in virtual reality, where people would walk around the virtual world as they do in real life.

How long have you owned London in SL?

Since 2006, so that is now 6 years now.

Obviously London is a very popular themed sim in SL, what are some of the highlights of the sims over the course of time?

We have evolved so much. Some of the landmarks are crucial to our current popularity. Initially we had Knightsbridge where the Underground Club was and then Chelsea. Where we showed the Telegraph Chelsea Flower Show Garden, commissioned by the Daily Telegraph. This was in 2008. That year the BBC2 Documentary made about London was also a landmark. We had a party when the program was aired and it put London on the map in terms of recognition.

We then went on to hold the first ever virtual / real social mashup event for Second Life in The Greyhound pub in Kensington. Many Second Life people attended the event and got to form friendships and relationships in real life. That was back in the 'superman' days when no one revealed their 'true identity' so was a watershed moment.

We also worked with London Fashion Week in 2009 and we were given the opportunity to interview top designers backstage at the real event. This was an incredible opportunity. We interviewed Maria Gratchvogel and then worked with Maria Gratchvogel and Twenty8Twelve to create artistic interpretations of their designs to show at London Fashion week in Second Life. That was really our first packed out event and we had to make it 'ticket only' because of it's popularity.

Since then we have done several charity events, such as Relay For Life, which we love taking part in because it's always for such a good cause. We have also worked with Universities in London, London University /ULCC and London Met too. Streaming real to virtual to expand horizons is always something I love to do, so we were delighted to get this opportunity with London University.

In 2009 we also had a Community Gateway, where lots of people who joined Second Life, chose to do so through the London portal. This was a thrill but also a great responsibility. Many people were needed to help then and it became a busy place.

I see London as a child. We have seen its infancy and childhood in 2006-2008 while it was being developed and grown, then in 2009 it became a teen, with the responsibility of a gateway, but still learning how to operate in a 'grown up' social world. More recently it has entered early adulthood, with the wonderful things that Jessii2009 Warrhol has been doing with the social and entertainment side of things.

We are now seeing the sims becoming fully functioning. With a regular and complex events program and lots of things to choose between, London is buzzing. People are given different choices too, to suit their own mood and taste. In terms of music we have Rock, Oldies, Pop, and Country clubs as well as two popular pubs that have events and quizzes regularly. The park is a major venue with shows, exhibition, displays, bands and so much more going on there. London is thriving and growing. All events are now packed out and London is increasingly seen as 'the place to be' in Second Life.

The most recent event was New Year.. that was such fun - the place was packed out and everyone was wishing each other a Happy New Year. That event is now the benchmark for me. Lots of goodwill and good fun too.

Where would you like to see the sims go in the future?

I would like to see London grow in terms of what is possible. One thing I have learned from Jessii is that change is necessary, constant change and constantly new things for people to do. We have the framework, so I want to see that we are making sure it is filled with fun things to do, great things to buy, and amazing things to see. I want London to increasingly be an educational source for people to learn in. Yet I still have my initial dream, that virtual London will be an all-encompassing replica of the real place, buzzing with activity and interest, opportunity and promise.

1. What inspired you to start Mocha Vision Photography?
I use to be an SL model and to be honest found it boring and wanted to be on the other side of the camera... it seemed more creative. I enjoy creativity and saw so many talented artists and photographers in SL that I wanted to throw my hat in the ring. So I dabbled a bit with profile pictures and before too long I started Mocha Vision

2. Tell us about Mocha Vision Photography, what were your aims and goals in Second Life when you started the band?
I think my goal at the time was to create the most "realistic" SL photo's without using Morphs, actually Mocha Vision started before morphs started showing up.

3. How long have you owned Mocha Vision Photography in Second Life?
Mocha Vision opened in 2009

4. We are thrilled to have Mocha Vision Photography come to London! What interested you to come to London?
The London Sims are amazing, filled with many iconic land marks, creative artistry and many personal touches that are fun to photograph. The people make every day an event and there is much to capture in print as a photographer the artistic possibilities are endless.

5. What are your future plans for Mocha Vision Photography? Any new and exciting things on the horizon? 2012 is a blank canvas as far as Mocha Vision is concerned, I work with other photographers from Pro Image Designs and would like to do some joint collaborations and maybe move towards more commercial accounts as I have been doing with the London Sims.

Oasis Tribute Band Concert for New Year's Day!

Yesterday, London continued the New Year's celebration, with a special event--an Oasis Tribute Band Concert! Events kicked off with a special pre concert show from Mayhem Rock Club with DJ Anakin and Host Tamil! Guests danced and seemed in good spirits, despite recovering from the previous night's festivities! The Oasis Tribute Band concert hit the stage and played the popular and familiar tunes from Oasis. London Rings in New Years 2012!

This weekend, London had three days of New Years events! The first day of events kicked off on Friday, December 30, 2011. You can read all about this special event here. On New Years Eve, the last party day of 2011 for London, events kicked off with a Coach & Horses event, with DJ Mia and Host Jasmine! Guests danced to the top tunes of 2011, as DJ Mia reminded us of how great the music was this past year! Guests also picked up New Year's hats, nosiemakers, and of course champagne. After the Coach and Horses party, Retrograde held an event in the park, timing the event with the real life London New Years. DJ Croft and Host Donna continued the party, with Croft playing a variety of tunes and guests were dancing well into the night. At midnight in RL London, DJ Croft played a special bells tune, chiming each minute of 2012, followed by a special rendition of Auld Lang Syne. Check out photos from this special event:

London ushered in Christmas Eve on Saturday, with two Retrograde Roadshow parties and a bonus late night party from Mayhem Rock Club! DJ Croft and Host Donna kicked off events at 12pm slt, having guests dance to a variety of tunes from the 1960's to the 1990's! For the second event, Host AJ joined DJ Croft and kept everyone dancing on the ground and on the popular sky dance pods! Santa & His Reindeer Tribute Band Kicks off the Holiday Weekend!

Yesterday, guests of London were treated to a special event, a FREE Santa & His Reindeer Tribute Band Concert, featuring a very funny and confused looking Santa and his mean spirited elves! Guests danced to a variety of Christmas rock tunes from various decades. Later as Santa calmed down, he and his band played a great rendition of "Have Yourself a Very Merry Christmas."

Following the Santa show, Mayhem Rock Club put on a great 2 hour event with DJ Anakin and Host Donna keeping everyone rocking and dancing, as guests were introduced to the sky dance pods, that keep everyone dancing in the air! London will continue to have Christmas and Holiday events throughout the weekend and on Boxing Day in Hyde Park, so keep your party hats and shoes on! Not at all tho when extremely drunk i like to think i can sing really well, i found this is untrue after singing live to an SL audience.

2. How did you first discover the London Sims?
Im a brit guess i just stumbled upon it one day.

3. Tell us about the BAD AMP’s headquarters, if you have one or a place where the band members let their head down. Are there any interesting things that occur in this location? Do you have a fan hang out?
We have a main 'office' come shop which is based next to The Gauntlet Club owned by our chiefy host Seithr, most of us hang out there when not playing in the band

4. How can a person become part of a tribute or regular band in Second Life or join BAD AMP?
They have to pay me lots of money then be my own personal slave for a year.

5. Are there any particular bands or rock singers that are your favorites? Which cheerleading band in real life is the ultimate band?
H.I.M. the only band that matters closely followed by 69 Eyes

I would love to go back to the reason we started, to bring euro bands that the rest of the world doesnt know about, there are some damn good bands out there that need to be heard.

Interview with SLCS Owner & Founder, Christi Charron!

This past week we have featured the Second Life Cheerleading Squad or SLCS for short, on our blog. The squad also returned to London yesterday for 2 hours! Below we have a special treat, an interview with the SLCS owner and founder, Christi Charron:

1. What inspired you to start SLCS?
When I first started Second Life I searched for squads to join, and there weren't any that I could find that were actively performing and practicing. So I started one myself!

2. Tell us about SLCS, what were your aims and goals in Second Life, when you started the squad?
My main goal in Second Life is to promote cheerleading to those that may not have the time rescources to do so in real life. I really wanted a place where I could enjoy the sorority of my teammates and satisfy my urge for performing at the same time as well.

3. How long have you owned SLCS in Second Life?
Four years exactly!!!! Woot!!!

4. We are thrilled to have SLCS come to London the past year and cheer! What about London that interested you to cheer so many times this year?
We love the people in London and enjoy performing for it's regulars as well as new visitors which are among the friendliest we have ever met in our four years of existance.

5. What are your future plans for SLCS? Any new and exciting things on the horizon?
SLCS never stops improving and that is always our immediate plan, to continue to get better at what we do and never stop progressing technically. We currently can perform several variations of 18 different stunts formations and pyramids and in the near future that will triple!

About Christi Charron:

1. How long have you been in Second Life?
4 years and3 months.

2. What made you first join Second Life?
I was looking for information on a Playstation 3 free download called "Home" that had not yet been realeased and came across Second Life in a related article.

3. What are some of the strangest things you have experienced or seen in Second Life?
I have seen some of the weirdest that Second Life has to offer, and it always fascinates me, but what I find to be the most strange are griefers, their motivation and intent on making someone's Second Life miserable. I guess they have upset everyone they could in real life and now have to go to a virtual world to continue their pathetic, selfish ways.

4. Other than owning a business in Second Life and loving cheerleading, what are some other things you do while you are in Second Life?
I love shopping, talking with my friends for hours and debating life's meaning with some of my best friends on a daily basis.

5. If you could invite anyone from RL into SL, who would it be?
My brother, but unfortunately, he can't even spell "PC".

Just for Fun:

1. As mentioned previously, you are very interested in cheerleading, have you cheered in real life?
Yes, I have been cheerleading for literally as long as I can remember until I had an unfortunate accident in 2007, which is also part of the reason I started playing Second Life, due to the confinement I spent during recooperation that is. I have also helped train two professional football cheerleading squads (one I was raised helping from birth), and have worked with one professional basketball squad.

2. How did you first discover the London Sims?
I first learned about the London Sims upon attending our first performance and have been enamored by them ever-since!

3. Tell us about the SLCS sim. What are some interesting things for people to do when they visit?
In our sim "Cheertopia", we have what we believe to be the best, most accurately represented professional football stadium in Second Life. Our stadium bowl is encircled in amazing stores and in our sims lower-level we have a village and lagoon for people's residents. SLCS charges the minimum amount for rental prices as it does not profit from land/store rentals but merely has them to support the existance of the stadium.

SLCS Stadium is a great place to attend one of our training classes or practices as a cheerleader or visitor as well as a wonderful place to have events like our once-monthly "Funday Events" which highlight some of the best vendors around SL based on the event theme and bring their products directly onto the field for us to view while we enjoy the live music and performances that ensue throughout the day.

4. How can a person become a cheerleader in Second Life or join the SLCS?
Nowadays, there are many, many cheerleading squads in Second Life to choose from depending on your preferences. Most other squads are supporting SL American Football teams that never seem to be doing very well or last very long which is unfortunate. SLCS is not associated directly with any one team and it's major function is to promote other businesses in SL and funnel traffic in their direction, as well as supporting and holding benefeits and performing at charitable events which we do quite frequently. To join SLCS one must meet many requirements and attend a month's worth of cheerleading classes capped off by a final stage performance and approval panel.

5. Are there any particular cheerleaders from a certain sport you prefer? Which cheerleading squad in real is the ultimate cheerleading squad?
There are currently few, if any teams that can match the professionalism, technical accuracy, variation and synchronization of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleading Squad, our internal structure is modeled after DCCS and is tailored to SL. Beyond DCCS the Saints and the Chargers cheerleading squads are exceptional in the NFL, but I really enjoy the performances and smaller environment given by professional basketball squads which have a more personal feel to the viewer.

SLCS's Kristy Curtau returned to answer a few more questions about the SLCS:

1. As mentioned previously, you are very interested in cheerleading, have you cheered in real life? Nooooo, way to clumsy. lol

2. How did you first discover the London Sims?

Jessii won a contest and first prize was a free show by the SLCS. We performed at another club she owned at the time. She invited us to come to London to perform and we fell in love with the place. It is really a great sim and the people there are a blast.

3. Tell us about the SLCS sim. What are some interesting things for people to do when they visit?

I have to say the best part of the sim are my SLCS sisters. They will always helpful and will make you feel welcome. The stadium itself is pretty impressive. It is a full size replica of an NFL football stadium. I am a bit biased but I think it is the best stadium in SL. We also have equipment on the field that we use to help with things like balance and landing. The trampoline is a lot of fun. Anyone it allowed to use this equipment. We also have a club with parties every Friday night, a game room, as well as concerts and events through out the month. Our Relay for Life fundays each month have become somewhat legendary. lol. Lots of stores to visit and shop at too. You can visit the tropical island below the stadium, and surf or rez a boat, hang out on the pontoon on the lake, or just sunbath or play horseshoes on the beach. There is almost always someone around to just chat with.

4. How can a person become a cheerleader in Second Life or join the SLCS? Very easy!

Just send an NC to me, Kristina Curtau and I can get them set up. They can also go to the stadium and sign up at the board in the lobby.

5. Are there any particular cheerleaders from a certain sport you prefer? Which cheerleading squad in real is the ultimate cheerleading squad?

Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders. They are the mold.

In a blog post yesterday, we announced that the Second Life Cheerleading Squad (SLCS) would return to London this weekend and that we would spotlight the squad and it's members. SLCS Events Coordinator, Kristy Curtau, agreed to answer a few questions about the squad. In the first part of our interview with Kristy we asked her about her experience in Second Life:

1. How long have you been in Second Life?
742 days, so a little over 2 years.

2. What made you first join Second Life?
I saw a story about it on the news. I joined to see if it might be useful for somethings I was doing at work. Anyway, I signed up, checked it out, and when I presented my idea to my boss, he looked at me like my hair was on fire. lol In the process, I made some friends and decided that though it may not be for work, SL is a great way to have fun and meet awesome people , so I decided to stick around.

3. What are some of the strangest things you have experienced or seen in Second Life?
The strangest?

To many to list, but the one that made me LOL in rl the loudest.....A man came into Blackhearts one night on a horse. Somehow he made the horse dance while he was on it. That was funny. oh, and those snail races. What is that? That is what I love about SL. The absurd is normal.

4. Other than owning a business in Second Life and loving cheerleading, what are some other things you do while you are in Second Life?
Well, i don't own SLCS myself or any other business. To much work. lol. I love meeting people. The main thing I love about my job as Event Manager at SLCS is that I get to meet so many wonderful people and see some many places. I go to a lot of live music shows too, some really great artist in SL. Oh, and shopping. I love shopping in SL. So much less expensive than RL. ☺

5. If you could invite anyone from RL into SL, who would it be?
Thats a tough one. Hmm, nobody serious. Probably a musicians or comedian. Somebody fun because SL is about fun to me.

The Second Life Cheerleading Squad or SLCS will be returning to London this Saturday, during the Retrograde Road show, in Hyde Park! This week we will spotlight the SLCS on the blog, so check back daily for information! SLCS kindly provided the following information about the squad and what they do in Second Life:

The Second Life Cheerleading Squad is a virtual cheerleading team within Second Life, a very elaborate 3D virtual world, dedicated to bringing Spirit and Fun to the residents of Second Life.

Started in 2007 by Christi Charron, the SLCS has blossomed into the largest and most successful Cheerleading group within Second Life. Our beautiful, intelligent, spirited, professional, and fun loving girls are always ready to "Bring it On" for your business, party, or event.

SLCS has an extensive outreach on the grid. With many girls coming into our establishment on a daily basis, as well as a large VIP group, SLCS continues to expand. We are a very active and large group and we have clients, such as SS Galaxy, Club Infinity, and Club Half Life, who acknowledge our spirit and enthusiasm and see how we can help them improve their businesses. SLCS continues to grow at a rapid pace and we have many exciting projects on the horizon!

As promised, here is part two of our interview with Pipa Novelli, owner and operator of Novelli Systems in Second Life. Novelli Systems is a maker of Dr. Who items. This part of the interview focuses on Pipa:

1. How long have you been in Second Life?
My rez day was 5th Nov 2010, just over a year.

2. What made you first join Second Life?
I first heard about it on the BBC tech news and then saw it featured in a CSI New York episode and thought I's give it a look.

3. What are some of the strangest things you have experienced or seen in Second Life?
Me as a grey cat flying around in a hamster cage. How strange can you get?

4. Other than owning a business in Second Life and loving Dr Who, what are some other ? things you do while you are in Second Life?
I love to randomly go to different sims. I particularly loved the railway system on the mainland.

5. If you could invite anyone from RL into SL, who would it be?

At the moment, I'd love any of the original Hartnell cast to have a look around our Hartnell console to see if it reminded them of way back when

In a recent blog post, London highlighted the new Tardis and police boxes from Mayfair Merchant, Novelli Systems (you can read this post here: http://thelondonsims.blogspot.com/2011/11/new-tardis-in-hyde-park.html). Novelli Systems is your supplier for Dr. Who inspired items in Second Life! Novelli Systems owner, Pippa Novelli agreed to a three part interview to talk about Novelli Systems, her Second Life Experience, and other fun things! Below is part one of the interview:

1. What inspired you to start Novelli Systems?

Main interest in SL, apart from the social aspect, is scripting and making things. I started out making Beatle's type Yellow Submarines and tiny daleks which then led to me developing my own TARDIS system, which was actually originally designed with tinies and micros in mind. Novelli Systems started out on a little market stall over in the tiny sim 'Extrovirtual'. I've also been a big sci fi fan for many years.

2. Tell us about Novelli Systems, what were your aims and goals in Second Life, for

your business?

Aims and goals, hmmm... At this point, to just keep building stuff and developing products as time progresses. To be honest, I', making it up as I go along and not working to some great masterplan - lol.

3. How long have you owned Novelli Systems in Second Life ?

Novelli Systems is a fairly young company and only started back in March 2011. In recent months I've been collaborating with Al Blindside if TechNoir on an informal basis but we might actually set up a new company in the new year.

4. We are thrilled to have Novelli Systems in London! What about London that interested you to set up a shop here ?

We (Al Blindside and I), just wanted to move into areas away from the other Dr Who shops and establish our own identity as a Dr Who/Sci Fi company. Also, me and Al live in the 'real' London and thought it would be fitting for us to be there.

5. What are your future plans for Novelli Systems? Any exciting or new products

launching soon?

Yes, were about to launch what will be Novelli's flagship console based on the very first Dr Who Episode with an optional add-on which is a recreation of Foreman's Yard. Plus there will be a range of full-sized daleks available too. Additionally, Al has a range of Dr Who furniture, tools and various bits and pieces from the show including a BBC camera circa 1964.

SL Norway Presents a Christmas Tree to London!

Today SL Norway presented a Christmas Tree to the London sims, a real life tradition that is held each year in Second Life!. Ey Ren, owner of SL Norway made the following speech today:

Christmas is about traditions, and this is in fact the fourth year in a row that Second Norway present a tree to The London Sims. This is a parallell of the tradition that has been going on since 1947. As a token of the close relations between Norway and the UK, Oslo has been giving a tree to be set up on Trafalgar Square for all these years.

And although World War II has been a major reason for those close bonds, I would like to focus a bit on what binds us togheter today. Probably, to some extent what bound us together in the Viking era... We have the best boats, you have the prettiest women. But I guess that I have to moderate that, or else I will have to seek asylum here in London.

I find Norsemen and Brits to be a bit of the same type of people. When others say "European Union", we all say bla-bla-bla. We really *would* like to drive on the other side of the road in Norway. And we do! Just with less luck than you people.

When I present this tree to you, it is with true gratitude. You Brits have given us so much, not just us Norwegians, but what haven't you given the world? The Cooper Minis, or Mini Morris as we call them. Rowan Atkinson. The Premier League. The world would have been a lesser place, had it not been for our fellows out here in the North sea.

And, being a notorious cynic, I hate to admit this.... You make the damned best feelgood movies in the world. As christmas draws near, I have to pull out the Love Actually DVD and see it. It's like a sore tooth you just can't stop touching.

Anyway, new this year is that we have taken a further step to make the relations between Second Norway and London closer. As we have established an embassy in London Mayfair. So, for a heap of L$, your passports will be awaiting you.

As I guessed Hyde Park does not need much contribution to lag, I have chosen a simple low-prim tree this year as well. And it is not very unlike the one coming up in Trafalgar Square these days. So by saying a big "thank you for everything", I'll try to get some lights on this thing. Thank you for coming, folks, and a merry yuletide to you all!

After the speech, yours truly made the following speech to thank SL Norway:

On behalf of London, I would like to thank Second Norway for bringing us this tree again this year. It is always a lovely gesture and we value and are greatful for this tree. If you do not know this is also a RL tradition as Ey mentioned.

This tree is a symbol of what brought two great countries together during a dark period in our lives. The lights on the tree shine brightly as the friendship of both countries continues to flourish in both real life and second life. Norway we thought of you as tragedy touched you again this summer and we keep each of the victims in our minds and hearts.

Ey mentioned giving in his speech quite a bit and I want to say that in this world an the next, it is important to give, but to give honestly and with purity. Continue being our friend and cousin Norway, in both worlds, thank you again for the tree and your friendship.

For our last segment on The Penalty Spot, a SL business owned by Vox Mullen, we asked him his thoughts on our sims and why he chose to open his new expanded shop in Knightsbridge:

1. How did you first discover the London sims?

During a basic search for major global cities while bored one day... ended up spending a few hours walking around London jsut saying 'wow' over and over.

2. What are some things about London that are unique to you?

To me its the sheer size of it. It has the feel and scale of an actual city, as opposed to some places where they try to jam all the landmarks onto a 1/4 sim. Search 'Las Vegas' for a good example.

3. Have you discovered any hidden areas in London or good places to hide?

I have a couple good hiding places, but i'm not telling.

4. Your business is located in our Knightsbridge Sim, what interested you about Knightsbridge to set up your business there?

I was on the Mayfair sim, and needed a larger space to expand... that's pretty much it.

5. We are often told that London is very realistic in SL to RL London, would you agree or disagree?

I've never had the chance to visit RL London, but it's on the bucket list... hope to do it AFTER the Olympics though.

To continue our spotlight of The Penalty Spot, which is owned in Second Life by Vox Mullen, I asked Vox some questions about himself and why he came to Second Life in the first place:

1. How long have you been in Second Life?
Since 2005...

2. What made you first join Second Life?
I was with an internet radio station at the time, and they built a presence in SL. After those first few days of learning the basics, I was hooked.

3. What are some of the strangest things you have experienced or seen in Second Life?
Aside from the occasional TPing before your clothes do? *laughs* As for strange things, i'll have to say my fave was the old Weather Channel sim, where you could be inside a house as an F5 hurricane hits, destroying the house around you. Me and a friend spent hours there getting pics of each other getting thrashed as the house blew away. Silly fun, but that works for me.

4. Other than owning a business in Second Life, what are some other things that you do?
I'm actually pretty low-key... really like hanging out with friends, hitting the clubs occasionally. I also enjoy being a 'virtual tourist', checking out SL versions of real world places. There's some amazing builds out there.

5. If you could invite anyone from RL into SL, who would it be?
Can i get four people as a group? Love to have the TopGear crew in here to take SL cars for a test drive.. could you imagine the fun The Stig would have? :)

Today we start a three part series on The Penalty Spot, which is owned in Second Life by Vox Mullen. Vox agreed to answer some questions about the Penalty Spot, about the London Sims, and of course on Second Life! Part one of our series focuses on The Penalty Spot:

1. What inspired you to start the Penalty Spot?
"It started as a small pub for some friends to meet at and talk football, especially on weekends.. after a bit, i started making shirts for my friends. Next thing i know, i'm opening a full store... and loving it!"

2. Tell us about the Penalty Spot, what were your aims and goals in Second Life for the business?
"I noticed that if you wanted to wear an item of your favorite football team, you were really limited to pretty much just a jersey. So I started making casual, everyday wear items for Premier League teams... shirts and scarves, and they proved popular. Makes me think I was on the right track."

3. How long have you had the Penalty Spot in Second Life?
"The pub version of The Penalty Spot opened in 2009... the first store was in Summer 2011, so we're relatively new.

4. We are excited to have you in London! What about London made you set up your main store here?
"I've been a long time fan of the London sims.. it's a great community, with wonderful people. I'm glad i've become an accepted part of it. Who knows, maybe I'll run for the MP spot in 2015? *laughs* But being a football store, where else could you be except London? It's a natural fit."

5. What are future plans for the Penalty Spot? Are you eying franchises or affiliates?
"I've never been a fan of franchises or even multiple locations... I figure the nature of SL has everything just a click away, unlike RL where say your favorite restaurant may be a 20 minute trip across town. So dont expect new locations. Just look for us in London.

5th Avenue in Hyde Park this Week!

This week, 5th Avenue Club & Lounge will hold all events in our Hyde Park sim! You can party nightly from 6pm to 8pm slt and at 12pm to 2pm slt this Friday in Hyde Park! Remembrance and Veterans Day Weekend Recap!

This past weekend, London had a variety of events to honor Remembrance and Veterans Day! Events officially kicked off on Thursday, November 10, 2011 with DJ Croft from Retrograde, laying a wreath at our Tower Hill War Memorial Replica. You can read more about this story at the link below:

Events picked up pace on Friday, with all London Gossip group members being given a free poppy to wear and Mayhem Rock Club, featuring DJ Crysis and Host Amy in Hyde Park. DJ Crysis packed Hyde Park with over 80 avis during a 2 hour rock filled set! Below are photos of this event:

The party continued on Saturday, with a 4 hour party from Retrograde with DJ Croft and Host Donna on hand to keep the crowd going for the jam packed event! Guests were dancing on a special created platform over the Serpentine in Hyde Park! London guests and residents danced to a variety of tunes, as DJ Croft took everyone on an awesome musical journey! The weekend of partying continued on Sunday with a FREE Sex Pistols Tribute Band Concert! Mayhem Rock Club's DJ Anakin and Host Angy kicked off events with a special 90 minute pre show filled with rock music! Later the Sex Pistols Tribute Band hit the stage and kept everyone dancing well into the afternoon! You can check out photos below:

One of the things that echoed on everyone's mind throughout the weekend, is that having the freedom to be in Second Life and mix with a variety of people or even having free internet access to access anything online, would not be possible without the sacrifices service members and their families have made throughout history.
